Dell published advisory DSA-2026-448 on October 1, 2026, addressing multiple vulnerabilities in Container Storage Modules, which integrate Dell storage arrays with Kubernetes. Dell recommends upgrading to CSM 1.18.0 or later and lists no workaround.

Dell has published a security advisory for multiple vulnerabilities in its Container Storage Modules (CSM), software used to integrate Dell storage arrays with Kubernetes.

The two most severe issues, CVE-2026-63688 and CVE-2026-63692, are unauthenticated network vulnerabilities with Dell-assigned CVSS base scores of 10.0. Dell says the flaws can enable authorization bypass or exposure of storage-administrator credentials, with major administrative impact.

Four other highlighted CVEs received scores ranging from 9.6 to 9.9: CVE-2026-67269 (9.9), CVE-2026-54472 (9.8), CVE-2026-61421 (9.8) and CVE-2026-67273 (9.6). The advisory also includes additional dependency and proprietary-code CVEs, so the issue should not be described as involving exactly six vulnerabilities.

Dell lists versions before CSM 1.17.0 as affected, while recommending an upgrade to CSM 1.18.0 or later. The company warns that its affected-version table may not be comprehensive and does not provide a workaround. Administrators should not assume that all 1.17.x releases are safe.

CSM supports Dell storage environments including PowerStore, PowerScale, PowerFlex, PowerMax and Unity XT, according to the advisory’s substance.

The CVSS ratings are vendor-assigned base scores and do not establish exploitation or observed attacks. No public evidence was found that these CVEs are being exploited in the wild. Independent technical validation of the advisory’s expansive exploitability and impact descriptions was not found in the supplied evidence.

Analysis

Why it matters

Organizations running Dell CSM should review their deployments and prioritize upgrading to the recommended release. Because the advisory identifies unauthenticated issues with potentially significant administrative impact, affected Kubernetes-integrated storage environments warrant prompt attention.

Practical guidance

What to know

01

Review the Dell advisory and determine whether CSM is deployed.

02

Upgrade to CSM 1.18.0 or later at the earliest opportunity.

03

Do not treat all CSM 1.17.x releases as confirmed safe.

04

Monitor for further vendor or independent technical validation.

05

Use the CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities Catalog as a separate check for exploitation status.
